At Southern Tasmanian Veterinary Hospital, we’re both a small and large animal practice that’s dedicated to looking after all kinds of pets from cats to horses and everything in between. Common surgical procedures and associated services we provide include:

- Emergency services – e g. skin or muscle wound repairs, investigating blockages, abscess or cyst drainage
We also work closely with specialist surgeons for any procedures we can’t handle directly in-house, and offer a personalised house call service for all large animals and when special circumstances require it.

At Southern Tasmanian Veterinary Hospital we offer many varied and important healthcare services for dogs, cats, birds, and all other types and sizes of animals.
Has your pet stopped eating, is upset or behaving badly or out of character? Are they overweight or you’re not sure how to manage their fleas? No matter your concern, we’re here to offer friendly expert advice and help wherever we can to get them back on track. Our range of healthcare services includes:
- Free dental check-ups
- General health check-ups
- Vaccinations

- Tick and flea management
- Behavioural assessments
- Specialist referrals – e.g. in the event training may be required

- House visits – for large animals and special cases only
We also stock a quality selection of medical and nutritional products for pets such as Hills Prescription food ranges, flea and tick prevention products, heartworm and dental products.
MOBILE CLINIC
Each month we organise a mobile clinic day, travelling to Dover and Southport, allowing any clients who are unable to travel to our clinic in Huonville the access our services from the comfort of their homes.
